Upgrade Classroom Technology

Upgrade the technology in classrooms to include such additions as Smart Whiteboards, Ergonomic chairs and desks, upgraded projectors, Apple TV and other emerging instructional technologies. The following upgrade schedule would be employed:
Year 1 – Upgrade up to 20 classrooms 
Year 2 ‐ Upgrade up to 40 classrooms 
Year 3 - Upgrade up to 60 classrooms 
Year 4 - Upgrade up to 60 classrooms 
Year 5 - Upgrade up to 60 classrooms

Description
Continue to upgrade and refresh the technology in additional general-use classrooms and lecture halls to include such additions as whiteboards, ergonomic chairs and desks, upgraded projectors, Apple TV and other emerging instructional technologies.
  • The plan for AY 2021-22 is to upgrade classrooms within the following time frame:
  • Summer 2021: Upgraded touch panels in the general-use classrooms
  • Fall 2021: Complete renovation of MH 213 classroom for 81-seat size
  • Spring 2022:   begin planning and AV purchases for lecture halls upgrades in RGC-013 and MH-121 that will begin in Summer 2022
  • Plan includes repaying of SSI Classroom Technology upgrade project loan

Staff & Facilities Support Highlights
Upgraded the following to the latest classroom standard: 
  • Upgrade 35 classrooms with touch panels 
  • Installed:
    • 100 wireless microphones
    • 70 webcams
    • 70 ceiling microphones
    • 189 USB-C connectors in general use classrooms.   
  • Planning for 43 general use classrooms for projector upgrades
