Expand Library Hours

Increase library hours during the fall and spring semesters to include full access 24 hours per day beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday of the final week of instruction through 9 p.m. on the last day of final exams. This would allow 110 additional hours of access for students each semester.

Description

Plan for 21-22

We expect to be able to keep the north tower open:

  • Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
  • Friday 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Closed on Sunday

SSIFAC money will be utilized to hire more CSS officers to keep the south tower open past 5:00 p.m. If circumstances permit, we will be open 24/7 during the finals period. If there is sufficient demand, we may extend hours, again depending on circumstances on the ground. We expect the spring semester to be the same, although if it makes sense, we will be open longer hours in the spring, again with the support of the SSIFAC money.
Highlights

Students Served & Impacted 

  • Student use of the library is nearly at the level it was prior to the pandemic with traffic of about 9,000 a day.
Staff & Facilities Support SSI funds were utilized to pay the salaries of the CSS needed to keep the south tower open past 5:00 p.m.
